The myth about sales & audience numbers

The first day I started my business I made over $3,000...
I had no 'audience'..
I still have a very small audience, I have less than 200 people on my email list, yet I have $20,000 months and I'm only a little more than a year into my business.
In fact I recently just removed over 60 people from my facebook group...
Why the hell would I be removing people if my audience is already so small you might say?
My logical brain thought the same thing...
Because I decide that the audience number is irrelevant to how many sales I make...
I decide that I only work with people who are 'my people'...
I'm happy to say no to working with someone, and I have said no...
Because when I say no, that's me saying yes to faith, faith that I don't need to bow down to that which is not quite a fit, because I trust the fit is on it's way, and if it's not I commit to what I do anyway...
Yes having a large audience is helpful, but only if they are actually 'your people', and it's definitely not necessary...
I've met people with audiences close to 1million but they've never even sold anything because they are petrified of losing some of their audience if they actually start to sell what they want to create...
The fear of losing an audience is real, I used to have a mild internal grief attack every time anyone would unsubscribe...
Now I don't look..
Because ultimately we are not here to appease the world but to express ourselves, and if your numbers don't vibe on it when you start showing the other parts of yourself, then they weren't your people anyway..
I remember Joel Brown saying that when he shared that he was religious a tonne of his followers unfollowed him, but then more of 'his people' found him..the practice develeoped his confidence and self-acceptance of these other aspects of self...
Obviously not everyone wants to run their business this way, they show just a narrow aspect of themself, which is totally cool...
But this is not the way I do business or life...I've done it that way before & it feels restrictive & it actually feels like work...
I show up as me so it's not 'work', I never feel exhausted after 'working' with clients anymore because I'm just me...
I decide that I don't need to push or scheme for my people to find me. I decide that my people find me with ease when they are ready, and of course the money shows up because that's the identity I've chosen.
